About 69km from Kota Kinabalu City or an hour's drive along the Beaufort Highway at Bongawan you will find The Pride of Borneo, an 18-hole, par 5 golf course, sitting on the edge of the South China Sea.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this is a superbly-crafted buggy course that plays 6546 metres off the championship tees. Spread over 200 acres on a 900-acre site, the natural features of the lagoon and surrounding terrain is played up to dramatise the water hazards as well as the wastelands and bunkers, giving a strong character to the ‘Golden Bear' course.
Clubhouse facilities include a golfer's lounge, golf shop, locker rooms, driving range, practice area, resident pro and putting green, karaoke and billiards. There are also facilities for swimming, racquet games and fishing.
The Borneo Golf & Country Club (BGCC) is further complemented by the Prescott Resort Hotel situated just besides the clubhouse.

Another haunt for golf enthusiasts is the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club, Tuaran. This golf course, which is a creation of Ted Parslow of E&G Parslow (M) S/B is located 35 kilometers (40 minutes drive away) from Kota Kinabalu. This 18-hole, par-72 golf course occupies a 6369 meter stretch of land.
Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club is a part of Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort. This 18-hole Ted Parslow design is a wetlands course bordered by the Mengkabong and Tambalang rivers. Golfers enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kinabalu. The club features a fully equipped golf shop and premium golf equipment is available for rent.
The fully equipped pro-shop offering range of balls, glove and headwear to complement our personal range of apparel, with a further selection of premium golf equipment available for rental. the registration desk is located within the shop to allow for one-stop registration and payment for equipment purchase and rental.

Established in 1906, Kudat Golf Club is acknowledged to be the oldest registered golf club in Sabah. Once affiliated with St. Andrew’s of Scotland in the early days. Located in the heart of Kudat town, the golf course was upgraded in 2002 to an 18 hole par-72 course, Nestled between the clear waters of Marudu Bay adjacent to Kudat Golf & Marina Resort.
Kudat Golf & Marina Resort has an ethnic design feel with timber furnishing incorporates the natural surrounding to create the modern style of long house which traditionally lived by an ethnic group that can be found in Kudat, known as Rungus.
All the 88 rooms and suites are complete with daily necessary amenities. It’s perfect for families, honeymooners, getaways and casual outings.
It is complemented by the Marina Resort which offers good accommodation and F&B outlets. There is also a driving range.

Getting There
You can self-drive, use chartered vehicle or arrange through a local tour operator. Chartered vehicles are stationed in front of the Indian Restaurant opposite the Health Clinic at Kampung Air in KK city. Saloon cars may charge around RM120 one way. Contact rent-a car companies for self-drive, or a local tour operator.

Tee off in dramatic style with Mount Kinabalu as your backdrop with the cool crisp air greeting you right here at the Mount Kinabalu Golf Club. Situated on the Pinosuk Plateau at 1,500 meters above sea level in Kundasang, Mt. Kinabalu Golf Club is the highest golf layout in Sabah. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, the golf course boasts a breathtaking landscape made up of sprawling farmlands and rolling hills.
Many golfers agree that this 18-hole course is both physically and mentally challenging with its ever-present winds, steep slopes and surrounding mists. With occasional thick fogs, some even say it feels like you're playing in the clouds! One of its notable holes is the 14th, par 3, 142 meters, which features a gushing river at the bottom of a deep ravine. It is a true test of skill once you get here: you will need an accurate shot from the elevated tee across the Mesilau East River to land on the green perched on the edge of a cliff.
Facilities include a clubhouse, golfers' lounge, practice putting and chipping green, golf shop, rental of buggy, golf shoes and golf sets, and caddy service.
Getting There
By Taxi
From Kota Kinabalu, take a taxi from the taxi stand next to Padang Merdeka (Merdeka Field) or your hotel lobby. Fares will cost approximately RM160-300 per taxi.
By Bus
You can also take a bus for RM15 per person. Busses depart from City's North Bus Terminal to Kinabalu Park. From here, you will need to arrange transport to get to the Golf Club (refer to Kinabalu Park's reception area for assistance).
Rent-A-Car
Renting a car will cost around RM180 and above per day. The journey will take around 2 hours.

About 30 kilometres or a half-hour's drive from Kota Kinabalu City is the Nexus Resort Karambunai and Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai at Menggatal.
This is a beautifully-crafted 18-hole 6173m golf course designed by renowned American golf architect Ronald Fream. Stretching from the edge of low hills and reaching towards the sandy beaches, this par 72 championship course requires both strength and strategy from the golfer with its numerous dogleg holes, meandering waterways, bunkers and not to mention the ocean winds.
The Club is equipped with buggy facilities, golf equipment rental,open-air driving range, practice chipping and putting greens, spacious changing and locker rooms, Pro shop and F&B services.

How to get there
From Kota Kinabalu, take a 55-minute flight to Tawau and enjoy an hour’s drive to Semporna. From here, Mabul is another 45 minutes by speedboat. Be sure to pre-arrange transportation with your respective resort/dive operator.
